Meet Shelby, a talented mixed media artist and jewelry designer with a unique journey. As a former pet salon owner and professional pet stylist of thirteen years, an injury and wear and tear of the job shifted her career path. She decided to rediscover her passion for creating art inspired by her love for animals, nature, and vibrant elements like leopard print and flowers. You can often find her in her cozy studio accompanied by her furry support team—a shih tzu named Stevie, a lively dachshund puppy named Boy, and a wise senior fat cat named Lola. She grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma and has lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico and Monroe, Washington where she took advantage of the beautiful landscapes and artistic scenery. While in Washington she attended the Burkhead Art Center where she completed several silversmithing courses and developed a love for soft soldering. Now residing in New Braunfels, Texas, Shelby enjoys local shops, soaking up the sunshine, and traveling through the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Her current interest is in mixed media art and collage, beaded wire-wrapped jewelry and ceramics. Her favorite techniques are always changing and evolving bringing her more joy and pleasure to the every day.
